WHAT TO EXPECT
A gradual approach to lasting rejuvenation.
1. Your Consultation
Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation to discuss your concerns, goals, and facial anatomy. We’ll determine whether Sculptra is right for you and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Sculptra can also be incorporated into a broader rejuvenation plan alongside neurotoxins, such as Botox®, and dermal fillers when appropriate. While each treatment works differently, combining them may help address multiple aspects of facial aging for a more balanced, refreshed appearance.
2. Your Treatment
Your appointment takes approximately one hour. Topical and injectable numbing, along with other comfort measures, may be used to help make your treatment more comfortable. Most patients tolerate the procedure well.
Your provider will administer Sculptra using a customized treatment approach based on your anatomy and goals. Immediately afterward, you may notice some fullness from the injected product and fluid. This initial fullness typically subsides over the next several days as the temporary swelling resolves.
3. Gradual Results
Sculptra works differently from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers. Rather than relying on immediate volume alone, its poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles stimulate your body’s natural collagen production.
As the initial post-treatment fullness settles, your results will develop gradually. Early improvements may become noticeable around 4–6 weeks, with continued improvement over time as collagen production responds to treatment. The goal is a refreshed, natural-looking result—not an overnight transformation.
4. Your Follow-Up
There is generally minimal downtime, and many patients return to their usual activities after treatment. However, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and other injection-related side effects can occur.
Your follow-up plan will be personalized, with reassessment and potential additional treatments typically considered within 4–12 weeks, depending on your goals, response, and treatment plan. We’ll guide you through aftercare and determine whether another session is appropriate.
